About Us

Welcome to Linda's Salsa

I am Linda Putnam and I am the founder of Linda's Salsa. Linda's Salsa comes from a dream after growing my own hydroponic tomatoes over 5 years ago. It comes in 4 flavors: Mild, Medium, Hot and Black Bean and Corn. The taste is fantastic and sells itself. After you taste it you will feel the same and you won't believe you ate the whole jar! Anyone who tastes it buys it and you won't want any other salsa again. It is made in Monmouth Illinois and we use as much local product as possible to make it. Making this dream come true was a lot harder than I ever dreamed but after a lot of hard work it has come true and is going over like crazy. I am currently in several National Food Chains as well as many stores throughout Illinois, Missouri and Iowa, and we continue growing every day. We are still working hard to add more stores and locations to the list so more and more of our customers can find Linda’s Salsa in their local grocery store. Please taste Linda's Salsa!

Linda’s Salsa is the product of the combination of a dream and need to use my tomato seconds. With 6 children, and 11 grandchildren, I have always used canning as a means to help meet the needs of my family. After handing out my salsa to family and friends, I decided to see if Linda’s Salsa could be a means to meet the financial needs of my family as well.

It has taken a lot of time and effort to put together this endeavor , From college courses on thermal processing as well as installing a commercial kitchen to all the red-tape with the FDA and inspections, I finally invited my town for a taste test. From there, I started selling Linda’s Salsa at local farmers markets and flea markets. I already had a foot in the door at a couple grocery stores with my tomatoes, so after getting permission, we loaded up the car once a week and hit the road to hand out samples and set up more stores. This process was a lot harder than I had anticipated, but once people started tasting Linda’s Salsa, the salsa sold itself.

Now, Linda’s Salsa is sold in 3 states and we continue growing every day. We are still working hard to add more stores and locations to the list so more and more of our customers can find Linda’s Salsa in a local grocery store.
